with the support of LE STUDIUM Loire Valley Institute for Advanced Studies.

We are pleased to welcome Prof. Noboru Sasaki (Hokkaido University) as a Visiting Researcher at the iBraiN Inserm Lab within the framework of the SMART Loire Valley Programme supported by LE STUDIUM Loire Valley Institute for Advanced Studies.

Prof. Sasaki is a leading expert in ultrasound-based technologies, with a strong focus on microbubble-assisted ultrasound for therapeutic molecule delivery and the development of advanced 3D experimental models. His current stay at iBraiN fosters a highly complementary and dynamic collaboration with our team.

Together with our PhD candidate Karen Ea (Université de Tours, Inserm Grand Ouest), Prof. Sasaki is actively conducting experiments using our in vitro blood–brain barrier model in our cell culture facility. This work combines ultrasound-driven approaches with sophisticated in vitro systems to better understand and control molecular transport across biological barriers.

Through this collaboration, we are developing a One Health–oriented strategy, aiming to position microbubble-assisted ultrasound as a versatile modality for therapeutic delivery in both human and veterinary medicine. By bridging disciplines and species, this approach strengthens the translational potential of ultrasound-mediated drug delivery.
