Depression

The team includes biologists and Doctor of Medicine. They study in humans and animals why some patients respond well to antidepressant treatments, while other individuals respond only partially or are resistant to these treatments. They seek to identify individual characteristics associated with these different response patterns, in particular the study of cognitive, emotional and sensory (including olfactory) present in affected subjects.

They found that the formation of new neurons in an area of the brain, the hippocampus plays a major role in the regulation of stress. Their hypothesis is that this mechanism could be a key factor in the failure of treatment with antidepressants.
