Under the scientific supervision of Profs. Belzung and El-Hage
Description
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a psychiatric disease occurring after confrontation of a subject with a traumatic experience. It is currently treated with chronic antidepressants, but a high pharmaco-resistance has been described. The lab is developping alternative treatments based on neurostimulation of dysfunctional areas using a transdisciplinar and translational approach. This project aims at developping repeated ultrasound neurostimulation using a mouse model. It will use a mouse model of PTSD, ultrasound stimulation, immunohistochemistry, electrophysiology and, if first steps are successful, state of the art technics such as optogenetics /calcium imaging.
Project will be co-supervised by a psychiatrist (Wissam El Hage) and a neurobiologist (Catherine Belzung).
